Grizzlies rally falls short in New York

New York, NY-New York Knicks forward J.R. Smith scored 35 points to lead the Knicks to a 108-101 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. The Knicks held a 30-point lead early in the second half, but saw the Grizzlies eventually cut that lead down to four at 103-99 in the last minute. Carmelo Anthony scored 22 points for the Knicks, who hit 11 of their 13 threes in the first half as they dominated the Grizzlies before Memphis’ furious rally.

Mike Conley led the Grizzlies with 26 points. They also got 24 from Jerryd Bayless. Mark Gasol returned from an abdominal tear that forced him to miss two games. Gasol scored 13 points in 36 minutes of action. The Grizzlies are now 47-24 and host Houston on Friday.
