Owner Of Front Street Deli Passes Away

(Memphis) The owner of a downtown Memphis restaurant that became famous because of a Tom Cruise movie has died.

Lee Busby, the owner of the Front Street Deli, passed away Tuesday of a massive blood clot.

Busby had been in Methodist Hospital for the past couple of days after trouble related to heart problems.

Downtown regulars and tourists knew his Front Street Deli as a scene in the Tom Cruise movie “The Firm.”

The movie was based on the John Grisham book of the same name.

The Front Street Deli was also popular with Memphis Redbirds, Tigers and Grizzlies fans.

Visitation will be held in the Narthex of Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Friday, from 1:00-2:00 p.m.. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Lee Busy was 59 years old.
