Longtime Memphis Judge Dies

(Memphis) Longtime Memphis judge Otis Higgs died Friday.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at 5pm at Mississippi Boulevard Baptist Church.

He passed away Friday at Baptist Hospital.

Judge Higgs began his law career in 1967. He would later become a criminal court judge in 1998.

Higgs graduated from LeMoyne Owen College and received his law degree from the University of Memphis.

Judge Higgs was also a pastor and former acting Sheriff of Shelby County.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
