(Nashville) The Tennessee senate has approved the guns in parking lots bill.

The bill allows people with a handgun permit to keep guns in their locked cars at work, school or while shopping.

The bill is expected to be approved by the house in the next two weeks.

Many big companies are against the bill like Memphis based FedEx.

If the bill is approved by the house and signed by Governor Haslam it would become a law on July first of this year.
