Memphis, TN-The Tigers will have freshman forward Shaq Goodwin for Saturday’s showdown with Southern Miss after Conference USA officials decided to downgrade a flagrant foul call against Goodwin during Memphis’ win at SMU on Wednesday.

Referees called a flagrant two foul against Goodwin when he knocked SMU’s Jalen Jones hard to the floor on a layup attempt. Goodwin was ejected from the game. A flagrant two means a one-game suspension. C-USA officials reviewed tape of the play on Thursday and downgraded the foul to a flagrant one. Officials decided Goodwin did not commit severe or excessive force on the foul. So, Goodwin will be in the lineup for Memphis when they play at Southern Miss on Saturday with first place in the league on the line.
