(Hinds County, MS) Southaven city officials were questioned today during the Greg Davis' civil trial.

The Mississippi Auditor’s office says Davis shouldn’t get paid until he returns all the city money he’s accused of using for personal use.

That’s about $160,000 total.

This morning alderman Ronnie Hale took the stand saying he did not trust Greg Davis and investigated a number of his submissions for payment.

He was questioned about why he did not investigate all his receipts.

Hale was also asked why he didn't remove questionable charges from the city docket.

Hale said former city attorney Mark Sorrel said he had no choice but to pay them and he was assured they were legitimate.

The trial is now in recess until May due to scheduling issues.
