Father Charged With Death Of 3-year-old

 (Memphis) Memphis police charge a father in the death of his 3-year-old son.

Police say that on Monday, at approximately 1:35 p.m., a 3-year-old boy was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital unresponsive.

The child had trauma to his head and body, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital by medical staff.

 The investigation revealed the father of the victim sent the child to the car and when he went outside he found him unresponsive at the bottom of the stairs.

He did not call for medical assistance and eventually transported the child to the hospital.

The victim’s injuries were not consistent with a fall and some appeared to be several hours old.

 The victim’s father, Jamie Jones, was charged with Aggravated Child Abuse Treatment and Aggravated Child Neglect or Endangerment.
