Winter Weather Turns Deadly in the Mid-South

(Newbern, TN) The winter weather turned deadly Wednesday night when a 19-year-old woman was killed in an accident in Dyer County, Tennessee.

The Dyer County Sheriff’s Department says the woman lost control of her car on an icy patch in Newbern.

The car slid off the road and into a ditch.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle and died at the hospital.

Investigators say she was not wearing a seat belt.

The woman’s name has not been released.
