(Memphis) A deal has been reached to reform the Shelby County Juvenile Court System according to the Commercial Appeal.

The agreement between the county and the U.S. Department of Justice reportedly calls for $4 to $6 million of taxpayer money to overhaul the court.

The juvenile court has been under scrutiny after federal investigators found that children’s rights to due process were violated and that African-Americans were treated unfairly.
