(Memphis) Many in the Berclair area didn't know what was going on when they heard all the police sirens in their neighborhood.

They knew though that it was something big when they saw how many police cars were there.

Dozens of officers showed up at the scene, blocked off streets, and even stopped traffic near I-240 to allow police cars escorting an ambulance to get to the hospital.

A woman who lives next to the house where the officers were shot heard the gunfire this morning.

She doesn't speak any English, but her husband told us she heard about 20 shots.

"She just went inside the house and laid on the floor. I mean we heard the people in there were selling drugs, but we didn't pay attention to them," said the man.

Police say 32-year-old Martoiya Lang, and 32-year-old William Vrooman were serving a drug-related search warrant in the 1000 block of Mendenhall Cove when they were shot.

A 21-year-old suspects was also shot and transported to The MED in critical condition.

Since April of 2011, 11 MPD Officers have been shot in the line of duty.

Five MPD officers have been shot since January of 2012.
