(Memphis) A South Memphis woman is behind bars facing aggravated assault charges after she allegedly stabbed a man she dated for 11 months in the chest.

According to a police affidavit, Jasmine Strickland, 22, and the victim were arguing in the 1400 block of Lapaloma Circle in South Memphis Tuesday around 4p.m. because the 22-year-old believed the victim was dating another woman.

Strickland took the victim’s cell phone and when he tried to get it back she stabbed him in the middle of his chest with a steak knife, according to the affidavit.

Strickland is behind bars on a $35,000 bond.
