Free Legal Clinics Help Miss. Homeowners with Foreclosures

(North Mississippi) Two meetings will be held today to help Mississippi homeowners who lost their homes to foreclosure.

Homeowners who lost their homes to foreclosure from January 2008 through the end of last year are eligible for today’s meetings.

The meetings are part of the settlement with the nation’s biggest mortgage lenders over their business tactics.

A free legal clinic will be held at the Gale Center in Hernando from 9 a.m. until Noon.

Another clinic will be held from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Lee County Library in Tupelo.

Anyone attending these meetings should bring their mortgage paperwork.

Mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will halt all bank repossessions starting in mid-December.  Evictions will resume on January 2.

Bank of America is also halting foreclosures evictions for its loans and the loans of its investors.
