Search for Gunman After Midtown Shooting

(Memphis) A man is recovering after he was shot twice during an argument in Midtown Memphis. The 37-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The shooting happened just after midnight on Peabody Ave. near Pauline St. Police are still searching for the gunman. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.

Meanwhile, firefighters were busy with two unrelated fires late last night.

Around 11:00 p.m., a fire destroyed a vacant house in the 2400 block of Hollywood St. No one was injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

In a separate incident, a space heater started a fire at a house in the 1500 block of David St. The Red Cross is assisting the homeowner.
