(Memphis) Terrence Thomas was charged with murder hours after his wife’s body was pulled from the Loosahatchie River on Thursday.

Police say Thomas admitted to strangling Karen Denise Thomas at their home one week earlier then dumping her body into the river from the Watkins St. bridge.

Thomas initially told police and News Channel 3 that he had last seen his wife on Thursday, October 11. He claimed that she left late at night without telling him where she was going.

Police found her SUV on Monday parked at the Garden Ridge on Summer Ave. They issued a City Watch Alert for her.

A passerby spotted Thomas’ nude body face down in the Loosahatchie Thursday morning.
