(Memphis)  Memphis Police have identified a woman found dead at the Renaissance Apartments in downtown as Connie Cox.

Police say the woman was homeless.

Little more is known about the incident which has left residents of the building wanting some answers.

"Very much so. Very much so," said one man who lives in the building.

The resident was only willing to talk to us if we did not identify him.

"My concerns are the safety of the building," he said.  "Since this happened, we've got no information whatsoever."

He says he lives just feet away from where blood was found in the stairwell.

It trailed down from the 23rd to 19th floor.

Yet, police are still calling this a "death" investigation instead of a homicide.

But Wednesday night, residents at the Renaissance say detectives spent five hours in one apartment unit on the 19th floor, "Was this a random act of violence or do we have someone in there that committed this crime?"

He says his children come to visit and he want to know if there is a killer living next door.

"I would like to know what level of concern I should have for their safety," he said.

The Memphis Police Department has told us they do not have a cause of death yet.
