The new JS Roundhouse Mids sneakers soon to be released by Adidas are causing controversy due to a unique element.

The shoes come with bright orange “shackles” that fit around the wearer’s ankles.

The sneakers were first seen on the Adidas Facebook with the tag line, “Got a sneaker game so hot you lock your kicks to your ankles?”

Many say they look like slave shackles or prison chains.

Several thousand comments on the Facebook page rip the shoes for their style calling them “racist”, “offensive” and plain ugly.
