(Marshall County, MS)  Byhalia High Senior Terrica Davis had everything to look forward to, an interest in science and criminal justice and a bright future.

Today, her parents are making funeral plans after a tragic accident.

Cheryl Jones and her family had been making graduation plans for her daughter Terrica Davis, until she got an urgent phone call Monday afternoon.

The caller said her daughter had been in a bad car accident, and Jones couldn’t believe it, ”Later I got a call saying go to The Med because they were on their way there with her”.

She rushed to the Medical Center, and heard how her daughter fought to stay alive, but her injuries were too severe.

Jones said her daughter’s loss is a big one,  ”She was a very sweet person, nice smile, very outgoing.  She loved everybody, her Church”.

The accident happened on Highway 309, just south of the Barton area of Marshall County.

We’re told she was hit head-on, as she drove to work about 4 in the afternoon.

Today, she’s being remembered as a young woman with a big heart.

”Just so many good things, I couldn’t do her justice, just I couldn’t do her justice” said Rev Willie Ward of Isaac Chapel CME Church.

She had wanted a career in criminal justice, as a forensic scientist.

She’s remembered fondly at Byhalia High School, where she was preparing to graduate.

”She would not miss a day of school, doctor visit, she would not miss a day of school" said Maurice Jones, her stepfather.

Now, she’ll miss her graduation, and hundreds of people will miss her intelligence, her kindness and her smile.

”We holding on and God is holding onto us," said Rev. Ward.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol investigated the incident.

We requested details of the accident, including if anyone else was hurt and who was charged, but never heard anything back.

Funeral arrangements are still in progress with Gillespie Funeral Home in Olive Branch for Terrica Davis, but it’s sure to be well attended  by family, friends, fellow students and Church Members.
