Thanks for logging on and thank you for watching News Channel 3 Daybreak!

Make yourself at home and while you're clicking way and checking out our website, browse over to our multiple traffic cameras.

From our Hilton Memphis Cam that gives you a great live shot of Poplar Ave and Interstate 240, our Comcast camera that gives you a live look at Bill Morris Pkwy just at Kirby Pkwy to our Tin Man cam that shows you instant updates on what's going on at Interstate 40 at Whitten Rd. Also on our website, you can find the TDOT cameras I use every morning on News Channel 3 Daybreak.

The TDOT cameras are positioned in numerous locations in Memphis, including both I -55 and the I-40 bridge that spans over the mighty Mississippi River. They're also located in Arkansas giving you a prefect view of the traffic over in West Memphis. We have a link to the Mississippi Department of Transportation website that offers continuous camera shots of heavily traveled roadways that, you as commuters, use everyday!

As for me, I'm Corie Ventura. Traffic reporter and assignment editor for News Channel 3. I grew up in Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor degree in Communication. What you might not know about me is that I also studied at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi and ran on the DSU's Cross Country Team.

I joined News Channel 3 in 2000 and spent the majority of my time behind the cameras. I worked in numerous positions ranging from production, editing, news gathering, research, sending crews to breaking news and our Live at 9 show that broadcasts live from Peabody Place in downtown Memphis. I joined the Daybreak team to report the traffic in May, 2007.

I hope you'll tune in to News Channel 3 Daybreak every morning so I can save you time on your morning commute and help steer you around the hot spots.

Don't forget if you have a Does It Work idea, feel free to email me.

    Corie’s Baby Blog: Whoa!

Last night was the first night I woke up out of a dead sleep. I woke up to a severe cramp in my right leg. I’ve been reading different baby books, and since my pregnancy has been so far (thank goodness) uneventful, I skipped the part about leg cramps. So last night, I was the girl trying not to wake up my husband, reaching for any book out of the stack that sits next to our bed trying to figure […]

Corie’s Baby Blog: Random & Odd Cravings

When I was young I thought pregnant women lived off of ice cream and pickles. I could not wait to grow up and get pregnant! I mean ice cream and pickles! That was my kind of meal. :) As I got older I started to understand what cravings actually meant. The one thing that tipped me off that I was pregnant was that things smelled different …really different. And it was not for the better either. I also remember guzzling […]

Corie’s Baby Blog: I’m In Love

Last Friday Thor and I were able to peek in, once again, at our growing little nugget. I can not believe how much he had grown since last month. We were blown away by how clear the picture was and how cute he looked. More so how human he looked. Prior images were profiles, and well he was still so tiny. I know I have a little human being in my belly. Sometimes when you are at the doctor’s office, […]
