WREG news channel 3 reporter Troy Washington is a Texas girl from the “Pearl of the Prairie,” El Campo, Texas.

She’s no stranger to rodeos and southern living. Troy began her career as a reporter in Albany, Georgia.

Next, she packed up her bags and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana. She often jokes that she is on her journalist tour of the south!

She prides herself on nabbing the tough interviews but also presenting every side of each story.

Troy graduated from Prairie View A&M University and has no shortage of Panther pride! As an undergraduate student, she helped to found an organization that has since spread to several other campuses, 100 Collegiate Women of America.

Since as early as elementary school, Troy knew that she wanted tell stories that moved people. The broadcast news industry gave her the opportunity to fulfill that purpose

Troy is passionate about community involvement and mentoring, she loves working out, traveling, catching a good movie and spending time with her family.
