  • 2 Students Killed, 2 Injured in Deadly Car Crash

    (Oxford) Police in Oxford are investigating a one car crash that killed two Ole Miss students. The crash happened just before 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning on Highway Seven near University Ave. The LaFayette County deputy coroner says the car flipped over at least once and was found upside down in the median. Two other students in the car were injured but are expected to be okay. All of the students were from the St. Louis area.

    Tipton Woman Killed After Pointing Gun At Officers

    (Covington, TN) The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into an officer involved shooting that left a woman dead. Five law enforcement officers are on administrative leave. Tipton County and Covington officers say around 8:00 a.m. they got a call a suicidal woman  was on Highway 51. “She was shooting at the people on the highway to hit her,” said bystander Shelby Hugel.     (Memphis) Memphis Police said they are investigating three separate shooting scenes Saturday night. Investigators said a man and a woman were shot on Getwell around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night. The shooting started as a robbery on Meadows. They have been taken to The Med and are in critical condition.     Elderly Residents Relieved To Get Power After Two Days In The Dark

    (Memphis) Memphis Fire crews worked to keep generators going at The Jefferson Square apartments Saturday morning. The building, home to many elderly tenants, lost power during Thursday’s storms. The complex is owned by the Memphis Housing Authority. Tenants called them trying to get answers, but the office is closed until Monday. WREG contacted MLGW who said a faulty underground cable was part of the problem. They have since fixed the problem, restoring power to over 200 apartments.

    Drive-by Shooting Sends One To The Med

    (Memphis) A man is recovering after getting shot in south Memphis. Police say the victim was visiting his girlfriend’s home in the 1200 block of Cannon Saturday morning. They were in the front yard when someone in an unknown vehicle drove by firing shots at them. The male was hit in the abdomen and taken to The Med in critical condition. No arrest has been made.     Man Surrenders After 6-Hour Standoff

    (Memphis)After barricading himself in his home for six hours, a south Memphis man surrendered peacefully to police officers. Police say Lawrence Perry wouldn’t let his girlfriend and another woman leave his house on Patton. According to the affidavit, Perry got angry with his girlfriend and hit her Friday night.     (Memphis) Memphis police are looking for a man they say broke into a SunTrust Bank. Officers answered an alarm call in the 3300 block of Elvis Presley around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night. The bank’s alarm company advised a man was observed walking around the lobby inside the bank. Investigators found evidence of forced entry to the bank through a window on the side of the building..     (Memphis) A Memphis man and his son were arrested after sheriff’s deputies say they attacked their neighbors. According to an affidavit the victims were in their driveway in the 4400 block of Duncan late Saturday night when Jeffrey Bartram, Sr. and Jeffrey Bartram, Jr. started yelling at them from their yard across the street.
