  • Memphis Police Association Provides Free Thanksgiving Meal

    (Memphis) Thanksgiving Day came a little early for some in downtown Memphis. The Memphis Police Association and several local unions teamed up to provide a Thanksgiving meal a the Martin Luther King Center on Beale Street. The meal was free to anyone who wanted a warm meal. The meal is provided each year as a gift to the Memphis community.

  • Wonder City Boys and Girls Club Outreach Event

    (West Memphis, AR) A community outreach event was held at the Wonder City Boys and Girls Club. Free haircuts and hot meals were provided for those in need. Free caps and gloves were also provided. The event was sponsored by The Barber Institute.

  • Family Displaced, Dog Dead After House Fire

    (Memphis) A family of five is looking for a new place to live after a fire in Raleigh. Fire crews were called to the home on West Elle around 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning. The fire heavily damaged the inside of the home. The family made it out without any injuries but sadly, their dog died in the fire. Investigators say an electrical  problem may be to blame.

    (Memphis) Zoo goers got a special treat while visiting the animals. ZOOper Hero Weekend, featuring the Avenger took place for opening weekend. Spiderman, Ironman, Thor, the Hulk and the Green Goblin appeared at the Zoo greeting customers and taking pictures.  

  • Creed Brotherhood Motorcycle Club Donates Food Baskets

    (Horn Lake, MS) A Horn Lake motorcycle club it getting in the giving spirit. The Creed Brotherhood Motorcycle Club donated food baskets to the House of Grace Shelter for Women and Children. This is the tenth year in a row the club has donated baskets to the shelter. The items for the baskets were donated by other motorcycle clubs in north Mississippi.

  • Gifts from the Heart Food Baskets

    (DeSoto County, MS) Some local organizations are getting a jump start on Thanksgiving Day celebrations by getting into the giving spirit. In DeSoto County, about 30 volunteers with the group “Gifts from the Heart” gathered to put together food baskets for those in need. They made about 50 boxes, each containing a full Thanksgiving meal.

  • Woman Hit, Killed by Car

    (Memphis) Memphis police are investigating an accident that killed a woman. 59-year-old Betty Cummings died after being hit by a car Friday night. The accident happened on Horn Lake Rd at Ravensworth. The victim’s son told  police his mother went outside to look for her dog. When he went out to look for her, he found her on the ground.     Hundreds Turn Out For Free Flu Vaccinations

    (Shelby County, TN) The Shelby County Health Department provided free flu to nearly 600 people Saturday. “People tend to take the flu a little bit too lightly, but it can be serious and have very serious impacts on our young, our medically compromised and on our elderly,” said Shelby County Health Department Director, Yvonne Madlock.     (Memphis) A Memphis Police Officer has been arrested and charged after allegedly breaking in on his ex-girlfriend. Memphis police say 33-year-old James Valentine used a spare key he never returned to enter his ex-girlfriends house. Valentine was armed with a handgun when he ordered a male occupant to “get up and get out” according to an affidavit.     (Walls, MS) A north Mississippi man is behind bars after a short search for him and his child. Walls police officers were called to Laurel Park Apartments in Walls, MS around 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning for a suspected barricade situation involving Cassidy Thomas and a little girl.     Accused Ax Murderer Found Innocent Of All Charges, Now A Free Man

    (Memphis) A man accused of being an ax murderer walked out of jail a free man after three years behind bars. A jury deliberated for just over four hours before finding Joshua Cline not guilty of the crime. Cline would’ve faced the death penalty had he been found guilty.
