Investigators: Fire at 100 North Main intentionally set

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The fire inside a vacant building on North Main Street was intentionally set, fire investigators say.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Wednesday afternoon fire crews were called to the downtown area after smoke and some flames could be seen coming from the 34th floor.

According to the fire department, one firefighter was taken to the Methodist University Hospital after experiencing chest pains. He is expected to be okay.
