GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS: The Holly Bobo Murder Trial

Police: Church deacon killed during domestic situation

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A domestic situation turned deadly in the Westwood area Monday afternoon.

Officers received a 911 call from the 4100 block of Maumee.

Loved ones said a woman stabbed her boyfriend, Torey Taylor-Gillard, inside his home while his 14-year-old daughter was just feet away.

Taylor-Gillard later died at the hospital.

"My first born. My first born! He won't suffer no more," said his father, Andrew Gillard.

He felt numb. His heart was heavy as he told us his son was a father and a deacon at Path Ministries Christian Church.

Friends said he also worked security at a local butcher shop.

"A man of God who once lived the life in these streets, but turned his life over to Christ," said Gillard.

Police have yet to say what led up to it all. They haven't said who the woman is they detained or if she's facing any charges.

Neighbors told us officers were at the home earlier in the day, but had no idea why.

"She came outside and talked to them, and then they left. Well, he left," said neighbor Arlene Stuart. "Then this happened."

Friends on the scene said the two seemed to be in love. They never heard of any problems.

"Ever since Christmas, he's been saying 'I love my girl,'" said Taylor-Gillard's friend Candace Davis.
