CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — After 68 years of marriage, nurses at one Massachusetts hospital are not letting anything keep one couple apart.

Arthur and Betty Hughes have been through it all together, and this past week they were both admitted to Mount Auburn Hospital with life threatening issues.

At first, the couple were separated and being taken care of in different units. Then, the nurses stepped in to help in their time of need.

“The nurses were able to get my parents in the same room to be together for what will probably be their final days,” posted their daughter, Beth.  “They have decided to forego any further treatment except that which will keep them comfortable.”

So side by side, they “want nothing more than to enter the next life together.”
