TACOMA, Wash. —Expecting deliveries this holiday season but worried someone may steal them before you take them inside?

Jaireme Barrow experienced package theft firsthand, and he did something to try to stop it, KIRO reported.

Barrow said four of his packages have “come up missing” in the past two months.

To fight back, he built a device that would fire a blank shotgun shell if someone picked up an Amazon box he left on his doorstep.

He posted video that shows the plan in action. It worked, with the would-be thieves running away and leaving the package behind.

Barrow said he doesn’t want to hurt anyone but does want them to think twice about their choice to steal.
