MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man convicted in two separate rape cases clapped his hands in court as the jury found him guilty of a third.

Deandrey Peterson was found guilty of aggravated rape, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony Friday.

Prosecutors said the 28-yer-old entered a woman’s Raleigh apartment in February 2014, raped and robbed her. The victim told authorities, Peterson threatened to come back and kill her if she didn’t wait five minutes before leaving the room.

Peterson was sentenced to 30 years behind bars for the first rape case. He is waiting to be sentenced in the second. Authorities said they also have two other rape cases pending against the defendant.

He is scheduled to be sentenced next month in this third case.
