MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The former Memphis Police officer who was convicted on attempted rape charges has been sentenced by a judge.
Darrell Malone, 30, was sentenced to a year behind bars and three years of probation, the District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
Malone will be on community supervision for the rest of his life and must also register as a violent sex offender.
The incident happened in April 2013.
According to police, the victim went over to Malone’s house in order to retrieve her laptop. When she arrived, she was sexually assaulted.
