HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. — A young man is dead following a stabbing on Thanksgiving Day.

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Jarquis Johnson.

A witness on the scene said she saw two men walk into a home on Edgewood. One of them was shouting.

When officers arrived they found Johnson on the ground with a stab wound. He was rushed to the Helena Regional Hospital where he later died.

Other officers spotted another man, later identified as Anthony Brown, walking away from the scene covered in blood and drunk. Authorities said the two men knew each other, but it’s still too early to determine what caused the late night stabbing.

Brown was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
