MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There’s a new addition to the Memphis Zoo family!

Meet baby girl Rook, a Francois langur.

She was born Oct. 16 to Jean Grey and Jay Jay.

Francois langurs are leaf-eating monkeys. They are born with a bright-orange coat that turns dark as they age.

Francois langurs have lived at the Memphis Zoo since 2002.

Curator Courtney Janney said Jean Grey is a “fantastic mother,” and the zoo is “thrilled that this relatively new family continues to thrive.”
