Memphis man convicted of brutal attack against ex-girlfriend
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man has been found guilty of attacking, abducting and then raping his former girlfriend.
Andre Brown, 24, faces up to 37 years behind bars for the 2012 incident, the District Attorney’s Office said.
It all started when Brown went to the 19-year-old’s Southaven home and shocked her with a stun gun. He then forced her into his car and drove to his brother’s home in the Warren Apartments where he cut off her pants and raped her.
Prosecutors said the attack didn’t end there. Brown held her for several more hours during which time he shocked her again and forced her to perform oral sex on him.
When Brown left the residence, the victim was able to get away.
Brown was arrested five weeks later.
He is due back in court for sentencing next month.
