MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis Police say they're searching for a man who followed a woman, grabbed her, threw her to the ground and tried to rape her in downtown Memphis.

Police released the sketch of the suspect and surveillance video of his car Wednesday.

The incident happened September 10 as the woman was walking down Union Avenue near Danny Thomas.

The woman told authorities the man began following her in a light-colored SUV. He then drove ahead of her and parked his car in a business parking lot and turned off his lights.

As the victim walked by, the man began following her in his car again.

Police say the victim then crossed the street to avoid him.

That's when he reportedly got out of the car, chased the victim, grabbed her, dragged her a short distance, threw her to the ground and tried to rape her.

The victim fought back and got away.

The man is described as being 6'3", 230 pounds and in his late 30s to early 40s.

He could be driving a Jeep Cherokee.
