MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shoppers will soon have the Union Avenue Kroger back.

The grocery store’s 1759 Union Ave. location has been closed since January for remodeling.

The opening of the new store is way behind schedule.

It will reopen Nov. 2. at 6 a.m.

The store is twice the size as it was before and has several new attractions inside: Corky’s BBQ, Murray’s Cheese Shop, a New York-style sandwich shop, a sushi bar, Juice Bar and a pharmacy.

There is also more parking.

Kroger is celebrating the occasion with a grand reopening featuring samples from Murray’s Cheese, Juice Bar and a chocolate dipping station. There are also free two-liter Coke bottles, Bimbo Bakeries products and Hostess coupons for the first 200 customers at the registers after the 9 a.m. ribbon-cutting.
