MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are looking for the people responsible for a drive-by shooting in South Memphis that sent two people to the hospital last night.

It happened just before 7p.m. along South Third Street near Person Avenue.

Barbara Daniel said her 24-year-old grandson and another man were both shot while walking to the store. She said her grandson somehow made it back to her house for help.

"When I come home he was coming out of the house telling me to take him to the emergency room, that he was shot," said Daniel.

Daniel said she had to walk up the street to get police, who were working the crime scene, and bring them to her house. She said her grandson is lucky to be alive.

"My daughter said they did surgery last night. She said a bullet missed his kidney," said Daniel.

Daniel said a man who was with her son was also shot in the leg.

Police have not said what led up to the shooting, and Daniel said she had no idea.
