One missing letter has anchor asking viewers to “check your panties”

RICHMOND, Va. — One letter can make a big difference.

A Virginia news anchor was reminded of that in a big way at WWBT-TV.

Eric Phillips was reading a story about a rice cooker recall when he said “panties” rather than “pantries.”

Phillips caught himself immediately after the mistake.

His co-anchor, who thought it was hilarious, said she caught the mistake but not fast enough to warn him.
