TIPS program help students prepare for college

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — State Treasurer David Lillard, Jr. was in Memphis speaking about the importance of saving for college.

He also spoke about Tennessee Investments Preparing Scholars or TIPS program.

It’s a grant program for qualifying lower to moderate income families.

If a participant puts $125 into a TIPS college savings account, they’ll get $500 to match.
