PARIS — The first space nation, Asgardia, is now accepting applications for those who wish to leave Earth.

Dr. Igor Ashburbeyli, the founder of the Aerospace International Research Center, said they will accept approximately 10,000 applications for the first satellite which is set to launch in fall of 2017.

“Asgardia is a fully fledged independent nation, and a future member of the United Nations, with all the attributes this status entails,” Tech Times reported him as saying.

The aim of the space station is to keep space safe, KMOV reported.

In addition, the group will protect Earth from space threats such as solar flares, sun storms, debris, and comets.
