Horn Lake Police do not believe missing mom of three is in danger

HORN LAKE, Miss.  -- Carmetta Jones is the type of woman who is always in contact.

"She called me on her way there."

Her said said she was calling and texting all day Wednesday from a forklift safety class she was taking for a new job.

"She text me, said 'Signing papers, headed out the door.' Two minutes she called and said, 'I'm walking out.`"

Once she left the training center on Raines Road in Memphis, she was supposed to pick up her three kids from school.

When her sister texted her just an hour later, "no text. I called and called and I haven`t heard from her since."

"That`s not like her. She`s gonna call. If she`s on the phone, she was voice text me like driving."

That night, Jones' family said her phone was giving off a signal from the woods near Latimer Lake Park.

"Her phone was ringing at the time, now it`s going straight to voicemail. I guess it`s not picking up anymore because it`s dead."

As the clock ticks closer to 36 hours since her disappearance, her family remains hopeful they'll see their loved one again.

"I think she`s still alive. I hope whoever has her just let`s her come home to her kids and her family."

Friday, police in Horn Lake said they do not believe Jones is in danger.

Jones was last seen driving a red 2007 Chevrolet Impala with the initials CSJ in the back.
