MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Memphis man was taken into custody after hitting an unmarked police car and then leading officers on a chase.

It all started when a man hit an unmarked police car near Highway 385 and Ridgeway around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

They said the men then sped away because he thought he had warrants out for his arrest.

Police chased him and it all ended here on Knight Road.

Neighbors were watching TV with their families when they heard the commotion.

"I was washing dishes and walked out here and saw all of the police," said one neighbor.

"It's shocking to see it happen on the street. You know, it's sad to know that we have that many criminals out here."

The suspect reportedly resisted arrested and officers were forced to use a taser.

Turns out the suspect didn't have any warrants out for his arrest. There was no reason he needed to take off in the first place.

Thankfully, no one was injured.

The suspect was taken to the hospital as a precaution then he'll head to jail.
