MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A sad and shocking shooting just blocks from the Liberty Bowl leaves a father of five dead and another man in the hospital.

There was a huge police presence after shots rang out in the 500 block of Baltimore Street Tuesday evening.

Through a halo of blue, a family crippled by the news their loved one, Robert Seymour, didn't make it.

To make it even harder, they said the gunman was his own cousin.

"They hung around each other everyday. All day, every day," said Jamal Garner who knew both people involved.

The shots rang out early Tuesday evening, sending neighbors scrambling.

"I heard about 8 or 9 shots. I don`t know what happened. I heard the shots, that`s all," said one person who didn't want to be identified.

The second victim was rushed to the hospital but is expected to be okay.

According to police, the suspect has been taken into custody. Police have not yet identified that person.
