1 killed, 1 injured following Southeast Memphis shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis Police responded to a fatal shooting in the 6200 block of Lake Arbor Drive.

Authorities told WREG two people were shot, and one of the victims died on the scene.

That victim was identified as Dewitt Carter, 34.

"Just last night, my neighbor got shot on Faxon today my brother, Memphis the violence has to stop," said Jacci Carter, who is the sister of the victim pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say the gunfire started following a disagreement between a group of men in the apartment complex.

The other victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police do not have any information on the suspect, who fled the scene.
