Police: Man set girlfriend’s apartment on fire after she kicked him out

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is behind bars after setting an apartment on fire.

Police said the suspect, Jeffery Boyle, 26, used to live in the apartment with a woman he was in a relationship with.

However, she kicked him out after they were having problems in their relationship, police said.

Police said Boyle was angry about that and responded by threatening her

Neighbors told police they saw Boyle leaving the apartments before the fire.

Firefighters responded to the building in the 3500 block of Tall Oaks Circle when it happened Thursday.

The firefighters said three fires were intentionally set.

They put them out, but the apartment suffered some damage, police said.

No one was hurt, police said.

Boyle is charged with two counts of aggravated arson.
