MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Police say thieves are targeting a block in Summer Avenue. In the last few days, a Family Dollar store and a woman have been the targets in the 2300 block of Summer Avenue.

"It is very surprising to hear about, and I come here every other day for lunch," said one woman in the area.

The shopping center off Summer Avenue is busy so two robberies, two days in a row in the same spot seems strange.

The first incident was reported Saturday.

A 32-year-old woman told police she was walking near the Family Dollar when a man knocked her down, took her money and tried to pull her pants down.

Thankfully the woman was not seriously hurt.

The next day the manager of Family Dollar called 911 after he said two men came into the store and began filling a basket with household cleaning products.

When the manager tried to stop the guys, one suspect said, "I'm going to shoot you if you don't get out of my way!"

According to police, he implied he had a gun.

Late Friday afternoon, police said they have no reason to believe these two robberies are connected, but it's a reminder to those in the area.
