Both suspects behind bars following Governors Inn shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A second suspect has been taken into custody after a shooting at the Governors Inn motel.

Mary “Juicy” Braboy was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with aggravated robbery and criminal attempt felony.

According to police documents, Braboy and a man went to the Governors Inn in the 2400 block of Mt Moriah Road and knocked on the victim’s door.

When he let Braboy into the room, the man pushed his way inside as well, pulled a gun and said “This is it, give me everything.”

The second suspect opened fire, hitting the man in the stomach.

The victim was rushed to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but he was able to identify Braboy as one of the people involved.

Cornelius McClenton was also arrested for his role in the shooting.

He was charged with criminal attempted aggravated robbery and criminal attempted first-degree murder.
