Dollar Tree assistant manager dead after abduction in store parking lot

JONESBORO, Ark. -- The manager of a Jonesboro Dollar Tree was killed after being abducted at gunpoint after closing.

The incident happened Sunday night around 9:30.

According to police, Assistant Manager Loretta Pixler and several other employees were leaving the store for the evening when they were approached by a man demanding money.

Pixler was forced to drive away in her vehicle.

The 2004 Hyundai Accent was later involved in an accident near I-555 near they Payneway exit and ended up in a ditch.

Pixler was discovered dead at the scene.

Jonesboro Police are now searching for the suspect who kidnapped her in the Dollar Tree parking lot.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark short sleeve shirt, gray pants with a red bandanna over his face.
