MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police responded to the Binghampton neighborhood after a woman was shot with a BB gun.

A man said he and his mother were walking near Colman Avenue and Hudson Street when the driver of a gray four-door sedan stopped and shot the mother with a small gun.

The suspect then drove away.

Police said the wound in the victim’s upper chest appeared to be from a BB or pellet gun.

The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center in critical condition but has since improved to noncritical condition, police said.
