Man charged with Memphis Target parking lot attack

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Dontavious Brown is locked up after police say he attacked a woman Tuesday at the Target on Colonial Road.

The victim told police she was walking to her car when Brown grabbed her purse.

She said she tried to hold onto it and was dragged several feet.

Investigators say Brown drove off with the bag containing the woman's cell phone, wallet and car keys.

A stolen credit card was used shortly after at a Shell gas station on Airways.

Police later found the woman's phone at Southland Mall.

Brown's car was stopped because it matched the victim's description of the getaway car.

Inside, police say they found the stolen ID and credit cards.
