School warns visitors that staff may be armed

MEDINA, Texas — A school in Texas is garnering a lot of attention after it placed a warning outside its front doors.

“Attention. Please be aware that the staff at Medina ISD may be armed and will use whatever force is necessary to protect our students,” the sign said.

According to KSAT, the district is home to more than 300 students.

It’s clear they will do whatever it takes to make sure all of them safe.

“You never know if there’s a transient or someone who has zeroed in on harming a child,”said Superintendent Penny White.

The sign was just recently installed at the school after about a year of discussion with the board of trustees.

They said two other signs will be added at other entrances to the school so that no matter which way you come in, you’re sure to see the warning.
