MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- "I'm not understanding, how did that person become this monster that I no longer know and no longer want to be apart of."
Melissa Rudd has known 24-year-old William Morris for years.
She said he recently started staying with her family.
They were shocked when officers burst into their home Monday for an arrest nearly two months in the making.
"We were scared because they came in, they had their guns and you know it was chaotic and crazy."
According to an affidavit, detectives began their investigation at the end of July when a woman told them a man broke into her home through a back window while she was taking a nap.
The man demanded money and raped her at knife-point.
A rape kit was collected but officers were able to lift a finger print front the scene and link Morris to the crime.
"It's sick what it is to me. Sick."
Rudd said Morris grew up and is well known in the neighborhood for running a lawn service. She's upset her family was ever exposed to him.
"I have a mother. I have sisters, I have nieces, you know and I have aunts so to me it's sick and he has a problem."
MPD told WREG they are working to see if Morris could be connected to any other sexual assaults in the area.
