Second murder suspect caught in Houston


MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man wanted on first-degree murder charges has been taken into custody out of state.

Derrick “D-Murder” Matthews was arrested in Houston, Texas on Friday, Memphis Police stated.

According to authorities, Matthews and another man, Raymon Muhammad, shot and killed John Jones just before Christmas in 2015.

Jones was on the front porch of a house in the 1500 block of McMillan when he was ambushed and killed.

Matthews is awaiting extradition back to Memphis.
