DeSoto Central High School band director charged with domestic violence

DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. — DeSoto Central High School marching band director Dennis Cox is in jail.

According to the Desoto County Sheriff’s Office they responded to a home in the 600 block of Thunderbird Drive after receiving a 911 call.

Deputies located all the parties involved and arrested Cox.

He was booked and charged with simple assault and domestic violence.

Desoto County Schools released a statement saying, “Dennis Cox has been the band director at DeSoto Central High School since the school opened. He was allegedly involved in an off-campus domestic dispute.”

Cox has since bonded out of jail.
